Dan Bethelmy-Rada: His career with an International Brand, L’Oréal

Dan Bethelmy-Rada has been since 2015 the Global Brand President of BIOLAGE and MATRIX, the L’Oréal Professional Products Division. His role requires him to lead and manage the strategy of the brand worldwide. This includes the image of the brand, digital strategy, education strategy and advertising with a team of 37 people and 7 people reporting directly to him. Before taking this position, Dan was the Deputy General Manager of the L’Oréal Consumer Products Division, Garnier International. For 15 years working for L’Oréal Paris, Dan Bethelmy-Rada has been an innovator and has perfected his skills in marketing and digital strategy.

Dan Bethelmy-Rada has created a track record in training successful candidates in the field of marketing. His leadership aspect in the company has been driven by determination, focus, and ambition. He has been key in encouraging his team in developing and appreciating inclusivity and diversity amongst themselves. This has been key in achieving the success at the Matrix brand.

His journey to L’Oréal

Dan Bethelmy-Rada was born and partly raised in Venezuela before moving to the United States for 10 years and later moving to Paris at the age of 16. His movement and residence in different countries have enabled him to appreciate different cultures and gain an understanding of everchanging aspects in the global space. His participation in the AFS-USA program as a young person gave him a broad perspective of the business opportunities available in international relations. He was clear about wanting to work with an international brand after studying International Relations at the Sorbonne University in Paris. After graduating from the ESSEC Business School with an MBA, Dan began his career at L’Oréal as a LaScad Product Manager. He continued to work diligently for the company and has since grown to his current position at the company at only 40 years.

His daily activities at his role involve drafting service creation, growth strategies and developing products. Dan is largely excited by the use and growth of social media as a great marketing tool. To maintain his productivity, Dan is key to his work-life balance.
